  • Melvin and Linda Fisher own and operate Walnut Run Farm in Chester County and are returning for their second year at the market. They emphasize soil health and pay close attention to the specific needs of each vegetable specie. They believe optimal soil health and, consequently, plant health will result in food that excels in shelf life and, ultimately, flavor. Melvin will be bringing produce, meat, poultry, eggs, and baked goods from the farm. He also will have Alpine Heritage Creamery’s cheese made from raw grass-fed milk, aged a minimum of 60 days — Sharp, Smoked, and Medium Cheddar; Herbal Jack, Colby, and Swiss.

  • Tim Pearsall has owned and operated Everwild Farm, a 2 acre family-run market garden, since 2018. Everwild grows their vegetables sustainability and chemical free using organic practices.   • The Kuser Family has lived on the farm since 1899. Currently, they farm the property as well as educate both young and old about food, the beauty of nature, and sustainable farming practices. In 1996, 230 acres of the farm was permanently preserved under the New Jersey Farmland Preservation Act so no future development can take place on the farm. Jeff Tober is the CSA Manager and will be coming to the market. In 2007, Larry Kuser hired farmer Jeff Tober to start Fernbrook Farm CSA. Since then the CSA has grown and supports over 400 families growing 20 acres of fresh, chemical-free produce, flowers, herbs and fruit. Jeff had worked for many years with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Philadelphia Green Program doing Urban Parks Revitalization work and did some work with Pretzel Park and nearby Gorgas Park!  Jeff and Assistant Farm Manager, Jess Brandeisky, and other Fernbrook farmers will be at the Saturday Markets.

Slow Rise Bakery — Lancaster

  • Brian Hernon is the baker at Slow Rise Bakery in Lancaster, PA. He uses as many organic ingredients as is practical and no preservatives. He shapes by hand and follows artisan standards for ingredients, slow dough development and labeling. His breads contain a high percentage of fiber providing a fiber/carbohydrate ratio that is healthier than commercial bread and most of his breads do not contain oil which many bakeries use to mask their lack of flavor and keeping qualities.
  • Slow Rise breads and baked goods will be available at the Friends of Pretzel Park table.

  • Ciera Hinkson specializes in hand crafted accessories for pets that take their beauty and swag to the next level, as they grab fashion by the collar. She rescued and adopted a blue pitbull, Pablo, from her local SPCA. Because she did not want people in the community to be afraid of Pablo due to his rugged and masculine physique or the negative social stigmas set for his breed, Ciera began crafting bandanas to express Pablo’s personality: loving, well mannered and well behaved. Ciera may be only the brains, or you could say hands, behind the bandanas, but Pablo will always remain the inspiration.

They are sold in open containers by weight so purchasers can pick and choose what they want (like a salad bar). Special packs are gluten free. He performs with various Middle Eastern and World Music ensembles locally, regionally, and internationally, as well as conducting workshops and master classes at schools and universities. Joe has been the recipient of several noteworthy grants from such organizations as the: NEA, PCA, PAEP, and the State Department. He is currently active in a wide variety of projects both as a performer and an educator.
